You Are Never Alone

wow...there's so much that has happend last week. and, all i can say is i'm praying for everyone there and espicially for the Cho family.

it is kind of sad to see how he allowed all the years of anger build up inside, and didn't allow our sovereign God to take care of it. 

i must admit myself that i was once a victim of "racial bullying", and i can say that NO non-minority american will ever understand what we (asians, other minorities) were put through in school. there were so many times where i've wanted to act out in my fustration and anger. english was not my first language, as a matter of fact english was my 3rd language! i was in ESOL until i was in 4th grade and even when i garduated from ESOL my english was still not perfect. (heck! it's not perfect now!) i was made fun of, humiliated in front of the whole class, and bullied...quite frankly it still makes me cry when i think back to those moments of the constant "wong chong chong" sounds made or the "go back to china u chink" phrase. i wished that i was not chinese and was so ashamed of my own culture. my mom used to make lunch for me and i would be so excited every lunch pd, and couldn't wait to get to it...until my classmates saw my lunch and surrounded me and pointed and laughed. i felt like a zoo animal...i even yelled at my mom and told her to never make lunch for me again. once i came home with gum in my hair and my mom would ask me what happend. i explained to her about how the kids at school made fun of me all the time, and she would tell me to be patient and just to pray for them. i did! i prayed and slowly my anger and hatred towards them went away. the kids at school stopped making fun of me and started to talk and play with me just like all the other kids. now, i'm not ashamed of who i am, and i LOVE being chinese.  it's amazing what God can do!

here's an extremely old youth group song that we sang yesterday for service. (it made me tear up...) but, i feel that this song is perfect for what's been happening lately. it's a response from God. (so sry i couldn't find a recording of this...but i'd be more than happy to play the song for ya if u ask)

wow, i haven't been on this thing for a while! i almost forgot about xanga until i talked with a friend about it yesterday. 

so, i'm finally back from nyc (there from sunday-thursday). i must say that this trip was a very memorable one.

1. friends like amy who took me in so last minute. thanks auntie ames!!! heh heh...

- (chi si wo le!) *wink wink* uhh......kekekke...

- lunch at Olies! heh heh...mm...singapore noodles.

- communal bathrooms...ugh college all over again...yikes!

- parking on the right side of the street while we were looking for parking on the left side of the street for 20 mins

- st.lukes hospital...so glad u're ok.

2. big sis like esther (good times good times)

- whoa! i just realized that i spent 8 straight days with this girl and i enjoyed every moment of it!

- GREAT FALLS, Md ---Tyson's Corner, Va...need i say more? heh heh...

- retrained Matt to say "Julie jai jai" instead of "Julie yi yi" YES, i'm so proud of myself!!!  

- met the cousins, it's CONGEE VILLAGE!!!! congee bowery pffffffffft....!  it's the same logo!

- saw chris and remembered our biking experience together...MAN, i wish i took a video of it

- diner in flushing meadows

- free counseling from a personal psychiatrist

- driving down the wrong side of the road.....hehe

- talking till 3am in the morning

- BETTER come to my wedding ceremony!!!

so, that's about all the recap i could remember for now. i had a great time up there even tho i froze my butt off. yikes! well, i hope that everyone elses week was just as fun as mine. stay warm and see ya around!

can't get used to...
